Welcome to Year 6C who are lead by Mr. Clarke and supported by Mrs Bevan and Mrs Walsh. Mrs Jones (Deputy Head) will also be teaching the class at specific times during the week.
Our aim for the year is to ensure that we develop the children’s confidence, independence and academic skills, so that they are as ready for their transition to high school as they can be.
We do this by implementing a curriculum designed to develop the key skills of Literacy and Numeracy, as well as providing children with knowledge and skills from a wider range of subjects too. Another activity that we participate in to improve independence is a residential trip to London, for a West End theatre trip.
The children will be working on their Statutory Attainment Tests (SATs) in the week of May 14th – please keep this week free.
Later in the summer term, we also work hard on out end of year performance – something that the children, parents, staff and the younger children (those in the audience) all greatly enjoy. We also work at exciting transition units to give the children a taste of the kind of things they will be working on in secondary school.
We readily invite you to look at our class blog to get a flavour of what we do day-to-day.
Remember: our door is always open should you wish to discuss any matters with a member of staff.
