Year 6 M
Welcome to Year 6M who are led by Miss Malins and supported by Miss Pemberton and Mrs McGivern. Mr Clarke will be teaching the class on a Wednesday afternoon.
Our aim for the year is to ensure that we develop the children’s confidence, independence and academic skills, so that they are as ready for their transition to high school as they can be.
We do this by implementing a curriculum designed to develop the key skills of English and Maths, as well as providing children with knowledge and skills from a wider range of subjects too. Another activity that we participate in to improve independence is a residential trip to London, for a West End theatre trip.
The children will be working on their Statutory Attainment Tests (SATs) in the week of May 13th – please keep this week free.
This term our topic is ‘A Child’s War’ and we have some really exciting learning opportunities ahead!
Homework is given out every Friday and expected to be returned the following Thursday. This will usually include spellings, grammar and Maths. Each child has been given a homework folder that they are expected to use in order to keep their homework in presentable condition.
We readily invite you to look at our class blog to get a flavour of what we do day-to-day.
Remember: our door is always open should you wish to discuss any matters with a member of staff.
